Regulars

Our hearts always leap at the sound of the bells on our door. Aside from having slight introverted personalities, Freddy’s and my face always light up when a fellow book lover walks in. A dozen customers could walk in within the span of a day, but I think we’re both in agreement, the Regulars are our favorites.

They greet us like old friends. Walking up to the counter, they aren’t afraid to ask almost unsolvable book questions. "Do you know the title of children’s poetry book with a black and white cover? I think it has something about a sidewalk in the title." I can breathe an inward sigh of relief. I happen to know the title, Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein.

The little boy who asks for war books every time he comes in. "Do you have war books? Not the college war books with lots of words. I like words, but I want to see pictures." We keep our eyes out for him on our book buying excursions and then keep them behind the counter until next time.

The kindly older gentleman who spends his visit browsing the Christian Living section. He always takes a few Bibles for friends, as our Bibles are free, and leaves a small donation in their place.

Regulars hold a special place in our shop and hearts. All customers are welcome. . . very welcome. Now hop to it, get on over and see us! Become a Regular today!
